Why Looking your best is as easy as one, two, three…

We all grow up believing that hard work will get you far. You work hard, you get far. And for women, I don’t think that this has ever been truer. From watching our parents/parent, we are taught, you have to be a good wife, mother, sister, niece, aunt and so much more. But we are not really taught by example how to also take care of ourselves. It’s like self-care is selfish. And when kids come into the picture, many of us, for want of a better word, “let ourselves go”, in every sense. But here’s the kicker, if you have a business, your appearance, your image, your work ethic is your trademark. When someone meets you for the first time and you are selling a product, or a service, you are ultimately selling you. They see you. They make a very quick assessment based on the way you look….Is this the type of person, I want to buy from, or be an extension of me (if you are offering a service), and so you have to look the part.

Looking the part can be easier and more affordable than you think, it just takes a little bit of effort. It’s as easy as 1, 2, and 3:

  1. Shop at thrift stores. Especially after the recession, many people are looking to cut back and save money. Thrifting is the best way to do it. One man’s junk is another man’s treasure. Often you can find never worn pristine condition item
  2. Find inexpensive jewelry that you love and can accessorize with to really bring your outfit together. Whether you find these at a thrift stores or at inexpensive costume jewelry providers such as Chloe + Isabel, using jewelry to accent your outfit pieces can really bring everything together
  3. In the spirit of self-care, my third tip is a little bit of self-care goes a long way. Exercising, dieting can help you bring out the natural glow from within that can then be accentuated by a little bit of light and subtle make up. I recommend setting an appointment with a masseur and or having a spa day regularly so you can relax and take care of yourself so you can look and feel your best.

Even if you don’t own a business it’s important to practice self care daily and look your best!

Take care of yourself my jewels 🙂
